Isaiah 40:28-31:  28 "Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.  He will not grow tired or weary, and hi understanding no one can tathom.  29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.  30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

A while ago when we were trying to sell our house, I wrote about these verses:  "I've been depressed about our house not selling. I was overwhelmed. My mind was cluttered with situations, work, and people strewn like dirty clothes across the floorI realized how hopeless I was feeling and that I hadn’t turned to the Lord, yet. I hadn’t spent time with Him. I was working, working, working, not acknowledging that I needed Him.

I finally stopped and picked up my bible. “Those who hope IN THE LORD,” jumped out at me. What was I hoping in? He says strength is given to the weary when our hope is found in Him. Thank the Lord that we have somewhere to look other than our situations."

Remember to put your hope in the Lord and find the strength you need to face the situations you encounter today. Blessings!

Summertime...and the living is easy?

We love summer. Really we do. But, it isn't always easy. We eat up having more time with the kids, and not worrying about all the schedules. And yet, these precious children are also great at making plans. It is a daily chore just to align all of their agendas with what really needs to be done...like chores!

That can be frustrating.  So to help us all make the most of this summer, we want to give you some summer survival thoughts and tips.  This month look for:
  • The verse at the bottom of this page. Feel free to make this your family verse for the summer.
  • Check out the idea listed in the junk drawer
  • Watch for the mom-e-moment full of summer survival tips.  Have you signed up to receive our free mom-e-moments? If not, look in the right column on this page.

We're glad you're here.  Let us know if there you'd like us to cover something specific on our site.  And please, feel free to contact us from the "Your Turn" menu--just to talk or to get information about hosting a Mom and Loving It! conference in your area.

Sonic Run...Sometime this summer, get your kids ready for bed, then send them to the car (or truck if you have one).  Sonic stays open 'til midnight or later, so take off!  If you have a truck, you can all sit in the back and eat your ice cream.  (Great idea Charles!)

Going Deeper in Cleaning...It's so hard to get deep cleaning done in the midst of the daily cleaning that needs to be done.  So, here's an idea we want to try.  Skip the daily things for two days (laundry, sweeping, washing the dishes - use paper plates for these two days).  Instead, make a list of the deep cleaning you want to get done (cleaning out a drawer, out from under beds, dusting fans, wiping out windowsills, cleaning some windows, etc.) and let your kids help with those for two days instead of regular chores.  Happy cleaning!
